A city like Rome couldn't be built in a day, and neither can a beautiful, functional website. Although time estimates can vary, a good rule of thumb is to expect your brand new website delivered within a month of signing (more on that later). Of course, the more custom requirements and complexity you add, the longer it'll take to create your product.
However, if you have a vision, and you need to materialize it in less than a month, rush services are available.
The entire process is divided into two sections, the build-up and the building. Generally the build-up involves planning the website, discussing prices, aesthetics and logic. This process is not included in the time estimate. The build-up can be as short as you want it to be. Once the everything is finalized, we move on to the building. On the left you can learn more about the build-up; the right column will explain the building process in detail.
- 1. The Talk
-
Everything begins with a long conversation, either by email or phone. You let me know what you want, and how you want it. I'll make my suggestions and we'll draw up a plan.
- 2. Pricing
-
Once I have a good idea of what you want, I'll give you an estimate. Using this estimate, you can add or remove features as needed to fit your budget.
- 3. Contract
-
If we agree on the price, I'll draw up a contract in a short amount. Every nook and cranny of the site is described in the contract, so as to have everything in writing. This contract will go back and forth a few times to add any extra details. The more the merrier.
- 4. Signing
-
Upon completing the contract, we'll both sign two copies and keep one. Although I require a down payment, work begins immediately upon signing under the assumption that the down payment is in the mail. This token of good faith extends for 10 days after signing.
- 1. Unique Theme
-
Each site comes with a unique theme. It can be built using predefined colors and shapes, or from scratch. Once you're pleased with the preview, it is converted to an XHTML/CSS layout.
- 2. Custom Modules
-
In the meantime, custom modules are developed to satisfy specific requirements. These can range from a custom newsletter application to a complex article layout system. Be sure to check out my portfolio to see more examples.
- 3. Collaboration
-
Once a working prototype is ready, it's uploaded to a server. Using a temporary domain, clients can monitor the progress and actively participate in the development process. There is no need to wait for a finished product, you can watch it grow step by step.
- 4. Delivery
-
As soon as the (occasional) kinks are ironed out, the real domain is configured and the site is launched. But this isn't the end of our relationship; you still get the standard warranty and excellent support.
